I paint what I feel when my hand moves colour across the canvas. I never have an idea of what a painting will be until the paint starts to move, and suddenly it's happening. I feel that everyone should have even just one piece of art, and that if seeing my work makes someone stop and take a second look, then they have felt something. It may not be what I felt when I painted it, but they see something there that is for them. It's a place where the paint speaks to ''them''. Like the sea calling to the shore, painting takes me to where I want to be. 7

I illustrate much of this work with digital photos and/or ''found'' clipart. Several books have been published from this showcase of light literature, and more will follow. One song, Graham's Pond, has been recorded by Anita Curran, of Alberry Plains. A second, Mugs of Tea, is being recorded by Debbie Curran of Lower Montague. See http://www3.pei.sympatico.ca/ladyc/gpond.htm and http://www3.pei.sympatico.ca/ladyc/mug.htm for samples of my work. 8

Of course works by the Old Masters have influenced her work. Also, the Impressionists, particularly Monet and Renoir have impacted her with their genius and ability to break all the rules. As a Canadian artist, she has deep appreciation for the Group of Seven who certainly set the stage for all seroius Canadian painters. What matters
to the artist is continued artistic growth. Recognition that there is spirituality
in nature. Every aspect of this is a gift from God, from shadow to light,
sunset to sunrise, all a moment to capture.
